Job Responsibility:
Job Summary Pinkwood, a Calgary-based company, is the leading manufacturer of fire-rated engineered I-joists and structural finger-jointed lumber in Western Canada. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic yard team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to efficiently move products throughout the warehouse and yard. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform some heavy lifting as needed. Shifts are available Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturdays when needed. This position is full-time with a starting wage of $21.00 - $23.00 per hr depending on experience.
Applicants must have a valid Forklift Operators Licence
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks.
- Move products to designated areas within the warehouse and yard using forklift.
- Perform routine inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Assist in organizing warehouse and yard layout for optimal space utilization.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
Skills
- Proficiency in basic math for inventory management and order processing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, as required by the role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance.
- 2-5 years experience operating a sit-down counterbalance forklift
- A general knowledge of the transportation industry
- Experience loading and unloading using a forklift
- Strong command of the English language
- Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Be a team player.
