Breton Ability is looking for a Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our brand-new Disability Support Outreach Team (DSOT) and help people with disabilities live with greater choice, dignity, and independence. This is a chance to do meaningful clinical work in a setting where your expertise directly improves everyday life. You will provide occupational therapy assessment, consultation, and intervention services supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, acquired disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and dual diagnosis. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will develop practical supports focused on accessibility, participation, independence, health, safety, and quality of life.

Flexible by Design: Funding is available for one full-time equivalent (FTE) Occupational Therapist position. The organization is committed to flexibility and is open to a range of scheduling arrangements, including full-time, part-time, shared, or customized schedules. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of their preferred hours, as we are willing to explore options that support both service delivery and work-life balance. Benefit eligibility may vary based on hours worked.

What you'll do:

• Provide occupational therapy assessment, consultation, and intervention to support participation, independence, and quality of life.
• Complete functional, sensory, accessibility, environmental, and activities of daily living assessments.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental supports.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, teams, and community partners to create person-directed solutions.
• Support Individual Program Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans through a human rights-based, trauma-informed approach.
• Provide education and consultation on accessibility, sensory supports, supported decision-making, and Remedy-aligned service delivery.

What you bring:

• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, from an accredited program.\
• Eligibility for registration or current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, complex support needs, and/or diverse abilities.
• Knowledge of occupational therapy assessment, sensory supports, accessibility, assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and participation-focused interventions.
• Strong consultation, communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, rights-based, and person-directed practice.

Where you'll work: The Occupational Therapist works across community, office, residential, educational, and alternate settings as required. Travel within the service region is required and a valid driver's license must be maintained.
