Production Manager (Brantford)

Hartmann Canada Inc, in Brantford, Ontario requires a Production Manager who will oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the manufacturing facility. The role includes leading Production Supervisors and hourly associates.

Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership : Ensure compliance with Hartmann Safety Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Act and local regulations; manage and reinforce safety programs to maintain an exemplary safety record.
• Quality : Oversee quality control systems, implement change management, and track performance metrics.
• Operational Excellence : Achieve production targets through efficient resource management and waste reduction; support continuous improvement programs such as Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Kaizen to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• People Development & Engagement : Lead and mentor production supervisors and hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
• Union & Associate Relations : Maintain positive labor relations, ensure compliance with the collective agreement, encourage open communication, and constructively resolve conflicts, including investigations and grievance discussions when required.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, HR and other teams to ensure seamless operations; support asset management initiatives, including preventive maintenance and reliability programs.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary education in engineering, business or other related fields.
• 5+ years of experience managing supervisory staff and proven leadership in a high‑volume manufacturing unionized setting (automotive preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and driving operational excellence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems.
