The Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, customer service oriented, professional to join the Front Office team as a Regular Front Office Host .

Front Office Hosts are responsible for the guest registration process and communication of hotel services and promotions. This highly visible role gives opportunity for casual conversation and has a direct impact on creating the guest experience. Other duties may include processing forms of payment and responding to guest inquires. You'll be the face of Hyatt as a Front Office Host.

Starting wage for this position is $24.03 per hour, after 6 months wage is $28.04 per hour, and after 1 year wage is $32.04 per hour.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
• Must be available to work various shifts ESPECIALLY Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and holidays (mornings, afternoons and graveyard shifts ) as required by business needs
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time
• Must possess refined and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and be very detail oriented
• Previous experience in Opera property management system is an asset
• Previous Front Desk hotel experience is preferred
• Must have previous cash handling experience
• Knowledge of basic math skills required
• Must have previous customer service experience
• Must have proven experience in making quick and efficient decisions
• Must be able to interact with a diverse group of individuals
• Must have ability to upsell - previous experience is an asset
• Knowledge of a second language is an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing throughout shift
• Constant writing, typing and computing throughout shift
• Frequent walking throughout the shift
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps
