Motor Vehicle System Modernization Director Edmonton

Shape the future of Alberta's Motor Vehicle modernization as the Executive Director. This role is centered on strategic IT leadership and fostering innovation in Edmonton’s transportation sector. Reporting directly to the Assistant Deputy Minister, you will spearhead the transformation of the Ministry’s information systems and service delivery.
Your responsibility includes leading a team-oriented approach to updating legacy IT systems while ensuring strong governance frameworks. The ideal candidate excels in building partnerships across government and industry to drive effective modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic IM/IT initiatives for motor vehicle systems
- Coordinate the Ministry’s Digital Modernization Roadmap
- Enhance collaboration with cross-governmental partners
- Chair committees for data governance and cybersecurity
- Promote agility and decentralization in decision‑making
Requirements
- Significant senior management experience in large organizations
- Expertise in IT and business process design
- Strong critical thinking and influencing skills
- Experience in policy formulation and complex issue management
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred
