Title: Community Health Nurse – St’at’imc

Salary: $94,724 - $114,261 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent- Part time 0.5

Hours: 18.75 hours, e.g. 9am-4pm Mon-Wed (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location: Interior Region - St’at’imc, B.C. (Lillooet)

Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About The Role

As the Community Health Nurse, you will provide a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services (community / public health, and primary care) in First Nations communities. You will work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will focus on promoting health, preventing disease and injury, protecting population health. You will travel across the region in this exciting opportunity.

About You

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Occupational Certification And Requirements

• Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support Certification Level C;
• Completion of a recognized specialty nursing program is an asset
• Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field

Knowledge

• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
• Knowledge and the application of concepts, principles, and theories of trans-cultural nursing, including knowledge of traditional, homeopathic or other healing practices used in the community.
