This is a national role and may be based out of one of our head office locations in Brampton, Quebec, Atlantic Canada or Western Canada, with domestic and international travel required as needed.
What you'll do:
- Manage and support a national portfolio of 100+ franchised retail stores across Canada, partnering closely with franchisees to drive sustainable business performance and operational excellence.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with franchisees and internal business partners, acting as a strategic advisor on business performance, profitability and key operational priorities.
- Provide oversight and guidance on retail P&L performance, including sales, gross margin, expenses, profitability and other key business drivers.
- Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and translate insights into practical recommendations that improve franchise and store performance.
- Leverage a strong understanding of the Canadian grocery retail environment, including store operations, labour, inventory, merchandising, customer experience and operating expenses, to inform business decisions.
- Partner with Franchise Operations, Legal, Procurement, Merchandising, Real Estate and other stakeholders on franchise agreements, renewals, amendments, commercial terms and related business matters.
- Support the development, review, implementation and ongoing management of franchise and related commercial agreements in partnership with Legal and key stakeholders.
- Guide franchisees in understanding business expectations, commercial terms, financial requirements and operational priorities.
- Support senior leadership on strategic business initiatives, franchise programs, retail transformation and other key priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working that enhance productivity, efficiency and the overall franchise experience.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships to advance key initiatives, resolve complex business issues and support effective decision-making.
- Provide business insights through financial analysis, reporting, forecasting and P&L analysis, with a focus on driving practical business outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations in a complex, fast-paced and evolving retail environment.
- Lead, mentor and coach team members, supporting their development, performance and individual development plans.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment that encourages strong performance, accountability and belonging.
- Lead and support ad-hoc, strategic and cross-functional projects as required.
What you bring:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Retail Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience within the Canadian grocery retail industry, with strong knowledge of retail operations, business practices and the franchise environment.
- Hands-on experience supporting or leading franchise businesses, store operations, multi-unit retail or related retail business functions.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with demonstrated knowledge of retail P&L, including sales, margin, expenses, profitability and key operational drivers.
- Working knowledge of balance sheet concepts, including assets, liabilities, working capital and equity, and an understanding of how operational and commercial decisions impact financial results.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and operational performance and translate complex information into clear, practical business recommendations.
- Experience building strong relationships with franchisees, store operators, vendors or other external business partners.
- Experience partnering with Legal and cross-functional teams on franchise agreements, contracts, commercial terms or related business matters is an asset.
- Strong understanding of retail operations and the ability to connect store-level decisions to financial performance, customer experience and broader business outcomes.

- Bilingual fluency in English and French is strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas and data analysis, along with strong overall Microsoft Office skills.
- Familiarity with SAP and MicroStrategy is an asset.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a complex, fast-paced retail environment.
