eHealth Saskatchewan
About eHealth and our Culture
eHealth Saskatchewan is at the heart of how health care works across the province – powering the digital systems that connect care teams, patients and information. With over 800 employees in 20 communities, we provide IT support and services in 433 locations, ensuring the right information and tools are in the right hands at the right time so care teams can focus on what matters most: patient care. We also manage Vital Statistics, health card services, and MySaskHealthRecord, one of Canada’s leading tools for giving people secure online access to their health information.
At eHealth, how we work matters just as much as what we deliver. Our culture isn’t just something we talk about, it shapes how we make decisions, support each other and deliver results:
1. Partner for results: We prioritize teamwork and ensure decisions involve those affected
2. Serve with purpose: We act with empathy, respect and care in every interaction to deliver better outcomes
3. Own our actions: We own our success and failures, act with honesty, and uphold trust
4. Innovate with intent: We challenge the status quo and turn ideas into action
Join us in strengthening Saskatchewan’s health system through meaningful, people-centered digital innovation.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about turning strategy into action and helping shape the future of digital health care? As the Business Planner, Technical Strategy & Planning Performance, you'll play a key role in driving strategic planning, performance management, and organizational alignment across critical technology initiatives at eHealth Saskatchewan.
In this role, you'll collaborate with leaders, teams, and partners across the province to develop strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and performance measures that support innovation and advance our mission of connected healthcare. Your work will help ensure technology investments deliver meaningful value for patients, providers, and the health system as a whole.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Director, Technology Capital, you will:
• Lead strategic planning activities, including coordinating planning cycles, developing business plans, roadmaps, and recommendations that support organizational priorities.• Collaborate with internal and external partners to align projects, priorities, and resources with eHealth Saskatchewan's strategic objectives and broader health system goals.
• Conduct research, analysis, and environmental scans to support innovation initiatives, business cases, and informed decision-making.
• Develop and monitor performance measures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting frameworks that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Create and deliver briefings, presentations, reports, and other strategic communications while supporting governance, audit, and business transformation initiatives.
• Develop a consistent annual audit schedule and management controls for Digital Services audit information management.
• Coordination of project, priorities, and deliverables across the Digital Services Team.
• Understanding of interdependencies across our department and how to best align work and resources in conjunction with eHealth and health system priorities.
• Creating and packaging documentation, presentations, information and decision items for various audiences.
• Coordination and support for business process improvement initiatives.
• Coordination of the development and implementation of metrics and KPI’s for department.
• Assist with the development of AI based innovation tools.
Who we're looking for
You are a strategic thinker who enjoys bringing people together to solve complex problems and drive meaningful change. You:
• Build strong relationships and thrive in collaborative environments, working effectively across diverse teams, stakeholders, and partner organizations.• Bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach to planning, problem-solving, and decision-making, even in complex or evolving situations.
• Understand how to connect strategy, operations, technology frameworks, and business priorities to achieve organizational goals.
• Communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into actionable recommendations.
• Navigate ambiguity with confidence, balancing multiple priorities while remaining adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills, considering challenges from multiple perspectives and identifying practical solutions.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, addressing gaps, and supporting sustainable process enhancements and change initiatives.
• Lead with integrity, accountability, and a customer-focused mindset, fostering trust and service excellence in everything you do.
What you'll bring to the Team
• A degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 1-3 years of progressive experience in business planning, strategic planning, facilitation, project coordination, or a related field.
• Experience developing business cases, strategic plans, performance measures, reports, or recommendations for leadership.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, business case development, and organizational planning processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written, presentation, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
• Project Management certification or related professional designation is considered an asset.
