Junior Legal Assistant

Our client, a leading Labour and Employment law firm, is seeking a Junior Legal Assistant to join their team. This role follows a hybrid remote schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and administrative support to lawyers within the labour and employment practice.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents, including court filings and materials for administrative tribunals such as the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
- Ensure timely service and filing of documents in accordance with the Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable tribunal procedures.
- Manage document production and maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems.
- Coordinate schedules, maintain calendars, and manage tickler and reminder systems to ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform general administrative duties, including supporting other legal assistants as needed.
- Maintain accurate document management practices and file organization.
- Assist with additional administrative tasks as required to support the team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant in a law firm environment.
- Legal Administrative Assistant diploma or certificate considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and tribunal processes.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Windows-based systems.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime as required.
Compensation
