Night Kitchen Lead

Job Responsibility:

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Night Lead (Kitchen) to join our team at French 50 Bakery. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious menu creations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will work closely with our culinary team to ensure top-notch food quality and exceptional customer satisfaction. 1. Reporting to the Kitchen Lead, the Night Lead is responsible for overseeing and leading culinary operations for the evening service, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation, presentation, and taste. This includes:

- Menu Development: Collaborating with the management team to create and update menus that align with the restaurant's culinary concept and target audience. This involves developing innovative and appealing dishes that showcase artisanal techniques and locally-sourced ingredients.

- Food Preparation: Leading and supervising the kitchen staff in preparing and cooking evening appetizers, pizza and desserts. This includes ensuring adherence to standardized recipes, portion control, and food safety guidelines.

- Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining strict quality control measures to ensure consistency and excellence in food quality, taste, and presentation. This involves regularly inspecting food items, monitoring cooking techniques, and addressing any issues that may arise.

- Inventory Management: Overseeing and working with the Manager of Operations to monitor inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, and minimizing waste through efficient usage and storage practices.

2. Team Management: responsible for leading and managing the evening kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. This includes:

- Staff Training and Development: Providing training and guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation practices. Encouraging professional growth and cross-training to enhance the team's skills and versatility.

- Scheduling and Shift Management: Working with the Manager of Operations to schedule kitchen staff to ensure adequate coverage during evening service periods. This involves balancing workload, considering staff availability, and adjusting schedules as the market conditions dictate..

- Performance Management: Regularly evaluating the performance of evening kitchen staff, providing constructive feedback, and addressing any performance or behavioral issues. Recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance to motivate and retain top talent.

- Collaboration and Communication: Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the kitchen team and other restaurant departments (e.g., front-of-house staff, bake team). Ensuring smooth coordination during service and addressing any operational challenges that may arise.

3. Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. This includes:

- Health and Safety Standards: Implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols, including proper handling and storage of food, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness of the kitchen area.

- Sanitation Practices: Overseeing regular cleaning and sanitization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations. Monitoring pest control measures and coordinating with external vendors for professional cleaning services when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
