Senior Software Developer

Help redefine customer support for the AI era.

Most companies are running support on ticketing systems built in 2007, with AI bolted on as an afterthought.

Botpress is the enterprise-grade AI agent platform for customer support — built the other way around.

The work ahead is ambitious. The opportunity is rare. We take a deliberate approach to growth: product-led, capital-efficient, and highly focused.

If you want to build the customer support platform for the AI era, we’re looking for top talent to join us.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Developer at Botpress, you’ll be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that drive the future of conversational AI. As a senior member of the engineering team, you’ll own features end to end, from design to production, and help set the technical direction of our AI agent platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain scalable applications, using your experience to solve complex problems while raising the bar on code quality and performance across the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of customer-impacting features
• Make architecture and technical decisions for scalable, reliable systems
• Collaborate with product managers and UX/UI designers to define and implement new features
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers to ensure best practices and continuous improvement
• Take ownership of troubleshooting and debugging complex production issues
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the team

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, ideally in a fast-paced product environment
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and frameworks like React
• A track record of designing and shipping complex systems at scale
• Deep understanding of software development principles, patterns, and methodologies
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience mentoring other engineers and leading technical projects
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• A passion for exploring new technologies and a desire to contribute to a rapidly evolving product
• An enthusiastic team player driven to achieve results and contribute to the overall success of Botpress
