Raw Materials Supervisor

Job Overview:

As a Raw Material Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the inventory management, and quality control of raw materials essential for production processes. This position requires strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure the efficient flow of materials from suppliers to the production line, meeting quality standards and production schedules.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.

· Regularly conduct inventory audits to reconcile stock levels, identify discrepancies, and address shortages or excesses.

· Collaborate with production and planning teams to align raw material availability with production schedules.

· Work closely with the quality assurance team to conduct inspections and testing of raw materials to ensure compliance with specifications.

· Address and resolve quality issues in coordination with the quality team and suppliers and implement corrective actions.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of raw material inventory, rack plans, and quality control documentation.

· Generate reports on key performance indicators, such as stock levels, lead times, and supplier performance.

· Liaise with the supplier team in case of shortages or other material issues.

· Play a crucial role in Quarterly and Year End Physical Inventory Count to ensure accurate inventory count.

· Ensure that the production floor is well maintained and organized for efficient picking of the raw material by the team.

· Keep an eye on equipment and make sure it's in good working order.

· Supervise and mentor a team of Material Handlers.

· Provide training and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

· Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.

· Proven experience in raw material procurement, inventory management, and quality control.

· Strong people and communication skills.

· Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software.
