Social Media and Media Specialist

Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) is seeking a sales and marketing position to join our growing team! We are looking for someone who is truly passionate about the fashion industry; marrying these interests with strong business acumen and entrepreneurship to assist us with the successful execution of our product and brand vision. VFW is a diverse and innovative fashion runway event that features both established and emerging designers. As the largest bi-annual fashion week in Canada and the fastest-growing event of its kind.
Responsibilities: - Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement- Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram an Tiktok- Monitor social media channels for trends, news, and feedback- Analyze social media data and generate reports on key metrics- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices- Respond to comments and messages on social media in a timely manner- Manage social media advertising campaigns to drive traffic and conversions- Conduct keyword research and optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO)- Collaborate with graphic designers to create visually appealing graphics for social media posts- Promote, advertise ,coordinate and sell the Company's services and/or products to prospective clients, securing that the monthly sales goal and deadlines are met.
Skills: - Strong research skills to stay informed about industry trends and competitors- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy of content before publishing- Knowledgeable about various social media platforms and their specific requirements- Familiarity with social media management tools such as Later- Ability to create engaging written and visual content for different target audiences- Negotiate and manage relationships with media vendors to ensure cost-effective placements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Experience with media planning, buying, and negotiation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
