DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC FINANCE
Strategic FP&A, AI Automation, & Executive-Level Storytelling

ABOUT THE ROLE:  

We are looking for an exceptional, hands-on Director of Strategic Finance to act as the strategic right-hand lead to our VP of Finance. Operating alongside our Controller (who leads accounting close, statutory compliance, tax, and ERP administration), you will own our forward-looking financial strategy. You will lead our corporate modelling, deploy AI and modern automation workflows across Finance and RevOps, execute on M&A and capital markets transactions, and use generative AI or AI applications to build out high-performance analytics frameworks as the company scales.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES):

1. Hands-On Strategic FP&A & Corporate Modeling
• Corporate Financial Architecture: Build and maintain our dynamic 3-statement models, weekly/monthly/quarterly operating plans, revenue forecasting, multi-year operating forecasts, and scenario analyses from the ground up without relying on junior analysts.
• Executive & Board Presentation: Spearhead the quantitative financial narrative, analysis, and materials for Board of Directors meetings, executive quarterly reviews, and investor reporting.
• Corporate Planning: Lead the annual budgeting process by working with the executive team to develop an annual plan with near real-time reporting on plan progress.
• Future Team Foundation: Establish rigorous modeling standards and analytical infrastructure today, with the mandate to hire, mentor, and build out an FP&A and FinOps team over the next 1–2 years.

2. Financial Engineering & AI Workflow Automation
• AI Agent & Workflow Deployment: Identify manual bottlenecks across billing, contract parsing, data extraction, and commercial operations; build and deploy LLM workflows, custom prompts, and automated scripts.
• Data Pipeline & Systems Integration: Architect and optimize data flows connecting CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), CPQ, Billing, and ERP systems to automate revenue operations and eliminate reconciliation friction.
• Modern Automation Tooling: Use tools like Python, SQL, Zapier/Make, and API integrations to establish self-sustaining, real-time reporting layers.
• AI Analytics & Insights: Leverage AI to drive deeper analysis and insights throughout the organization (i.e. QBR’s, MMR’s, BvA’s)

3. RevOps & Commercial Structuring
• GTM Engine Analytics: Partner with RevOps to track and analyze sales capacity, pipeline velocity, CAC/LTV dynamics, and retention cohorts.
• Deal Structuring & Deal Desk: Serve as the primary strategic finance partner to Sales and RevOps on deal structuring, pricing models, margin analysis, discounting schedules, and commercial contract terms.

4. M&A / Capital Markets Execution & Compensation Modelling
• Transaction & Valuation Execution: Own the operational execution for M&A / capital market transactions, including due diligence financial modelling, virtual data room (VDR) setup, and cap table administration
• Compensation Architecture: Model and maintain corporate compensation bands, incentive structures, and equity option pool dilution economics.

WHO YOU ARE (QUALIFICATIONS):

- 7–10+ years in Strategic Finance, FP&A, BizOps, or Investment Banking / Management Consulting followed by high-growth B2B SaaS operational experience. Strong business acumen with a high intellectual curiosity.
- FP&A Mastery: Spreadsheet wizard with demonstrated mastery of complex revenue modelling, 3-statement modelling, operational modelling, SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, GRR, CAC payback), and executive-level financial storytelling.
- Engineering & AI Mindset: Practical experience architecting the finance tech stack and working with data, deploying AI/LLM tools, automation platforms (Python, SQL, Zapier/Make), and SaaS toolchains (Salesforce, Stripe/Chargebee, NetSuite) to eliminate manual workflows.
- Commercial Depth: Proven deal desk and commercial contract experience, with a solid grasp of pricing models, billing schedules, and equity compensation economics.
- Autonomy & Drive: High-autonomy builder who thrives with ambiguity and enjoys executing hands-on work from scratch with the leadership aptitude to manage direct reports as the team grows.

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT:

You won't be managing month-end reconciliations, audits, tax filings, or HR administration—our Controller leads those domains with excellence. You are joining to be an operational architect and strategic partner: designing intelligent financial infrastructure, building board-level models, and leveraging AI to scale our operational engine.
