Plant Controller (Kingston)

Job Overview

Our client in the manufacturing space is looking to add a Plant Controller to their team. This is a key leadership role within the finance function, offering strong visibility across operations and a clear path for progression.

This individual will take ownership of financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, costing, and business partnering with plant operations. The role offers the prospect to work closely with senior leadership, drive process improvements, and play a critical role in supporting the financial performance of the plant.

This is an on-site role based in Kingston, suited for someone who thrives in a hands‑on, operationally focused environment and is looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle accounting and financial reporting, including month-end, year-end, and audit processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Partner closely with plant operations to support costing, inventory, and margin analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and support audit processes.
• Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, and general financial operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and accounting processes.
• Utilize SAP for financial reporting, analysis, and operational support.

Requirements

• CPA designation (required; in progress will not be considered).
• Strong experience with IFRS and US GAAP.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP.
• Proven experience in full-cycle accounting and costing.
• Background in manufacturing or similar environment (plant controller experience strongly preferred).
• Experience with SOX compliance is a strong asset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with operations.
• Detail‑oriented, hands‑on, and comfortable working in a fully on‑site environment.
