ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager - Volunteers Library & Research Services the Assistant Volunteer Services provides efficient and effective administrative support to Volunteer Services to meet the needs of volunteers clients and staff. The Assistant is required to work at various SJCG sites and travel between sites is required.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Post-secondary education and clerical/administrative experience required

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and public relation skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Willingness and ability to learn Better Impact (volunteer management software)
• Self directed with the ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Excellent clerical skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
• Flexibility to work at various sites and travel between sites
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Asset:

• Previous experience with volunteers or volunteering

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
• Will be required to travel to various work locations providing own transportation
• May be required to work outside of regular working hours (evenings and weekends)
