We are looking for an energetic, reliable Server / Bartender to join our team in a fast-paced sports bar and off-track betting environment. In this dual role, you will be the face of our floor and bar—pouring drinks, serving food, managing guest tabs, and keeping the energy high during peak game days, fight nights, and race broadcasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Service & Hospitality: Greet guests promptly, take food and beverage orders accurately, and deliver orders with speed and attention to detail.
- Bar Operations: Prepare high-volume drink orders, draft beers, standard mixed drinks, and signature cocktails while maintaining proper pour costs and portion control.
- Sports & Simulcast Floor Management: Manage multiple tables and bar patrons simultaneously, balancing food service with quick-turn beverage orders during rushes.
- POS & Cash Handling: Ring in orders accurately, process cash, debit, and credit transactions, split bills, and balance the cash drawer at shift end.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Verify valid legal ID for age verification, practice responsible alcohol service (Smart Serve certified), and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all patrons.
- Opening/Closing & Cleanliness: Restock bar inventory, rotate kegs/bottles (FIFO), sanitize tables, bar tops, and glassware, and complete daily opening/closing side work.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience bartending and/or serving in a high-volume sports bar, casual dining, or entertainment venue.
- Valid Smart Serve certification (or provincial equivalent).
- Solid foundation in draught beer systems, standard cocktails, wine, and spirits.
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure.
- Flexibility to work high-traffic shifts, including weekday evenings, weekends, and major sporting events/playoffs.
- Strong communication and teamwork mentality.
