 WINDWARD SUPPORTIVE HOUSING  PROGRAM (F002)

LOCATION:  Bathurst/Lakeshore

PARKING:  

• There are 4 parking spots available at this location
• If they are filled, you will have to pay for parking in the area or underground

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Provides personal support services (i.e., activities of daily living, lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, respiration, meals/drinks, general hygiene)to clients in their homes.
• Be part of the UNIFOR union

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• A passion for providing exceptional personal support services to male/female clients
• Ability to lift and transfer clients
• Manages time in co-operation with clients to complete tasks
• Ability to accept direction from client's regarding services
• Excellent  communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and judgment skills
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 computer skills (Outlook, Word)

WHAT HOURS YOU’LL WORK:

• This opportunity has no set permanent work schedule. 
• You must be available as follows:
  • 3 days a week between Monday to Sunday
  • Must be able to work an 8-hour shift either 4pm - 12am, or 12am - 8am(overnight)
  • of the 3 days, 1 must be a Saturday or Sunday day shift from 8am - 4pm
• NOTE - IN ADDITION there may be more opportunitis to be able to cover other shifts including:
  • 8am - 4pm
  • 8am – 12pm
  • 9am – 1pm
  • 9am – 1:30pm
  • 5pm – 9pm
  • 6pm – 12am

HOW TO QUALIFY:

• Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time).  This also includes a PSW Program from an Adult and Continuing Education School Board. 
• 1-year PSW experience gained in the physical disabilities sector
• Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) membership would be considered an asset
• Proof of First Aid and CPR certificate 
• Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Person)
