Executive Director Job
Reports to: Board of governors. Reports: direct reports across four departments; indirect reports. External interfaces: Funders, community leaders, partners, local NFPs.
Executive Leadership
Foster a positive, inclusive culture; ensure both offices act as one. Lead by example.
Recruit, supervise and support staff; build systems to improve efficiency.
Own retention, development, performance management, succession and exit interviews.
Primary spokesperson; accountable for communications, branding and web.
Finance
Accountable for financial health; manage a budget up to $0.5M.
Produce an annual budget (JanDec) for board approval; report progress each meeting.
Develop a fundraising strategy; comply with legislation and funder requirements.
Remuneration: $70k$90k plus benefits, commensurate with qualifications and ability to secure new funding.
Stakeholder Relations: Primary interface with funders, public, board, staff and stakeholders.
Strategic Planning: Help the board develop, implement and monitor the strategic plan; accountable for vision, mission and sustainability.
Risk & Compliance
Maintain the risk management plan (financial, operational, reputational).
Ensure compliance with legislation and policies; accountable for health and safety.
Board Relations: Advise on strategy, keep the board updated, and prepare meeting packages.
Location: In person, split equally between Estevan and Weyburn offices; other SE Saskatchewan travel may be required. Must reside within commutable distance.
Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu.
5+ years senior leadership with a proven track record.
Experience building relationships with communities, officials and policymakers.
Strong public speaking, presentation and facilitation skills.
Additional: Valid criminal record check.
