Customer Service Professional

Are you passionate about helping customers and solving problems? We are looking for a Customer Service Professional to support members, plan sponsors, and internal stakeholders with inquiries related to group insurance benefits. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is committed to delivering an exceptional service experience.

What you will do:

• Handle approximately 50 inbound customer calls per day, with a target average call length of 10 minutes or less.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding group benefits, claims, coverage, eligibility, and plan balances.
• Investigate and explain claim decisions, including declined or partially paid claims.
• Troubleshoot plan member account and system-related issues.
• Provide timely, accurate information through phone and email communication.
• Navigate multiple systems and source documents to resolve customer concerns efficiently.
• Deliver exceptional service while meeting quality and compliance standards.

Must Have:

• 1+ year of customer service, call centre, contact centre, or customer support experience.
• Experience handling high-volume inbound calls and managing multiple customer inquiries daily.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to navigate multiple systems while assisting customers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Ability to work in a KPI-driven environment with metrics such as customer satisfaction, handle time, first-call resolution, and schedule adherence.
• Comfortable learning detailed insurance, benefits, or policy-related information.
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly navigate multiple applications and source documents.
• Reliable, adaptable, and committed to providing an exceptional customer experience.

Work environment and schedule:

Training Period: 100% on-site, 5 days per week for approximately 4-5 weeks (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM AST).

Post-Training: Hybrid work model with 3 days per week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Schedule: Monday to Friday with shifts scheduled between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM AST .

Employees receive their work schedule approximately one month in advance .

This is a Contract position based out of Halifax, NS.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a hybrid position in Halifax,NS.
