Part-Time Optician Opportunity in a Modern Optometry Clinic

Our clinic is a modern, patient-focused optometry practice committed to providing exceptional eye care and outstanding customer service. We are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and motivated Part-Time Licensed Optician to join our growing team.
Schedule
- Part-time (2–3 days per week)
- Weekend availability (Saturday) required
- Additional shifts may be available based on clinic needs
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, specialty lenses, and eyewear products
- Perform accurate frame fittings, adjustments, repairs, and dispensing
- Take precise optical measurements, including PD, segment height, and optical center
- Process spectacle orders and communicate with optical laboratories
- Verify completed eyewear for prescription accuracy and quality before dispensing
- Maintain an organized and attractive optical dispensary
- Assist with inventory management and merchandising
- Support front desk operations as needed, including appointment scheduling, insurance processing, and patient check-in/check-out
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming patient experience
Qualifications
- Licensed Optician in Ontario
- Experienced optical dispensers are encouraged to apply
- Previous experience in an optometry or optical clinic is required
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame fitting, and optical dispensing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English (required)
- Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a strong asset
- Friendly, professional, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable using EMR and optical management software
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
