Position:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a fixed term (contract to cover maternity leave of 12-15 months with potential for extension), full-time position based out of our Richmond, BC head office.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and providing support to the Finance team as needed. The successful candidate will:

• Perform month-end duties which include preparing monthly journal entries (accruals and adjusting entries) and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Reconcile bank accounts monthly

• Complete government filing requirements such as GST and PST returns

• Manage accounts receivable aging, invoicing, cash receipts and other accounts receivable related tasks

• Ensures accounts payable invoices and expense claims are accurate, properly coded and authorized for payment.

• Prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis including managing employee expense reports and ROE processing, and compliance with payroll remittances including WorkSafe BC reporting

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including intercompany, consolidations and elimination entries

• Assist the Controller with the year-end review engagement

• Provide general support to the Controller and prepare various ad-hoc reports and duties in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications:

• CPA designation is preferred, however not required with appropriate experience

• 3 - 5 years of experience of full cycle accounting

• Strong accounting and analytical skills

• Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
