Senior Site Superintendent

New City Contracting is currently hiring a Senior Site Superintendent with extensive experience in managing large-scale mechanical and electrical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of on-site construction, ensuring compliance with company standards on safety, quality, cost control, and timely delivery.
Location: Richmond, BC Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Project Manager to schedule and plan construction activities
- Provide regular progress reports to the Construction Project Manager
- Oversee daily sign-ins and sign-outs via Sitemax
- Coordinate material requirements with the Project Coordinator on a weekly basis
- Attend and actively participate in site meetings with trades and engineers
- Record and maintain minutes for bi-weekly engineer-driven meetings
- Supervise and ensure the quality of trades' work and installations
- Address and resolve any issues with trades as they arise
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the daily activities of trades
- Manage work coordination with subcontractors
- Ensure safe working conditions are consistently maintained on-site
- Follow up on SVR and SI to ensure trade completeness and QA
- Ensure that trades complete work according to POs and COs
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience as a Construction Site Superintendent, with a focus on large mechanical and electrical projects
- A degree or diploma in a related field, along with relevant bonding and certifications
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Experience in preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations
- Proven ability to create realistic schedules and ensure timely project completion
- Demonstrated cost control measures and strong project management abilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple conflicting demands effectively
- Strong delegation skills, with the ability to set expectations and monitor progress
