Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented National Account Manager to manage strategic customer relationships and drive profitable growth across the energy and electrical markets.
The successful candidate will combine strong account management expertise with proven business development capabilities, building long-term customer partnerships and identifying new opportunities within the wire, cable, utility, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Manage key national customer relationships and serve as the primary point of contact.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive retention and growth.
- Lead customer business reviews, commercial discussions, and contract negotiations.
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Business Development
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities.
- Prospect for new customers and expand existing accounts through consultative selling.
- Understand customer requirements and collaborate with internal teams to deliver appropriate solutions.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts.
Strategic Sales
- Drive profitable revenue growth through value-based sales strategies.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activity.
- Develop market and account strategies in collaboration with leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and other teams.
- Represent the customer's needs internally while ensuring commitments are effectively supported.
Customer Engagement & Travel
- Travel approximately 25–40% for customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and internal meetings.
- Visit the manufacturing facility approximately 1–2 times per month to maintain alignment with operational teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5–8+ years of experience in national account management, sales, business development, or a related commercial role.
- Experience within energy, electrical, wire, cable, utility, or industrial markets strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and developing new business.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales and technical products or solutions.
- Manufacturing and cross-functional collaboration experience preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
