JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, the Content Writer & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for copywriting, content creation, and social platform management and optimization. This role supports all major marketing and communications activities, including but not limited to digital marketing, campaign management, and stewardship. The Content Writer & Social Media Coordinator will also play a key role in the development and implementation of Feed Ontario's social media strategy and identifying and creating compelling content that tells Feed Ontario's story as well the execution of Feed Ontario's stewardship strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In partnership with the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, develop and evolve Feed Ontario's social strategy, identifying new opportunities for engagement and growth.
- In partnership with the Senior Manger, Marketing & Communications, develop Feed Ontario's content creation strategy and schedule.
- Execute the content strategy, including content creation and content posting for all of Feed Ontario's social media channels (Meta, LinkedIn).
- Work closely with the Development Team to produce donor engagement and stewardship content, campaigns, and marketing materials to assist in the solicitation and stewardship of sponsors, donors, and prospects in alignment with the annual stewardship strategy.
- Develop compelling content that resonates across social media and other digital platforms, including blog posts, online stories, advertising, etc.
- Own day-to-day social media management and campaign optimization, including paid and organic content and campaigns, boosted posts, target audience development, responding to inquiries and mentions, and reporting.
- Collaborate across departments to identify content and audience engagement opportunities.
- Utilize analytics and SEO to monitor traffic, user behaviour, and conversion rates, providing valuable insight to optimize campaigns.
- Support the development and execution of all external communications and marketing campaigns.
- Assist in the creation of email marketing and donor engagement campaigns.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- University or college degree in relevant field (Communications, Marketing, Writing, etc.) preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 2-4 years experience in digital marketing and content creation, nonprofit experience an asset.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in marketing and/or communications, original writing and editing, and content creation.
- Exceptional storytelling skills across a variety of mediums.
- Experience in social media management across a variety of channels and platforms.
- Experience in digital marketing and content management.
- Demonstrated success at driving effective marketing and communications campaigns.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Self-motivated and resilient to changing timelines and requests.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic graphic design skills considered an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS The Feed Ontario office works under a hybrid model of in-person and remote work. Most work on behalf of Feed Ontario will done in an office environment. There will be some offsite travel required for meetings with partners and stakeholders. On occasion, you will be required to attend events on behalf of Feed Ontario.
