Petawawa, Ontario (located in Eastern Ontario, 170 kilometers northwest of Ottawa)

Position Type: Indefinite Full-time Contract to start June 2024

Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:00 (Occasional Evenings/ Weekends for special events)

Language Requirement: English Mandatory; French a Strong Asset

The Role(s)

Under the direction of the Finance Manager the Human Resources Administrative Assistant is responsible for duties related to the day-to-day administration of the PMFRC human resources office. The position maintains human resource practices and objectives that align with the PMFRC's Human Resources Policy. They will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, and goal attainment, in addition to the ongoing development of a high-quality workforce. They coordinate and implement the services, and programs related to all human resources processes.

Desired Knowledge, Education and Experience

• Degree or certification in human resources, or a related field, AND
• Two years' experience providing support in personnel administration, personnel management, recruitment, business administration, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of internal policies, processes, initiatives, and reporting of HR matrixes.
• Experience in facilitating recruitment, training and employee onboarding
• Working knowledge of various Ontario legislation and regulations (Employment Standards Act, WSIB, and benefits and compensation programs).
• Advanced knowledge and skills with the MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) as well as other programs such as Zoom or MS Teams applications.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and a strong multitasker
• Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

• Proven ability to show initiative, prioritize independent and department work, meet tight deadlines and make daily decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within both an inter-disciplinary team and in a self-directed environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills under all types of conditions, exhibiting a supportive positive approach, and sensitivity and tact in dealing with people under stressful situations.

Special Requirements

• Adhere to all PMFRC policies and procedures including policies regarding privacy code and confidentiality.
• Participate/ assist with all special events when required.
• Provide proof of any applicable registration with the respective regulatory body if applicable.
• Occasional extended workday and/or occasional evening or weekend as required.
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record check, obtain an enhanced reliability security clearance, and vulnerable sector screening (current within 6 months).
• Valid Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for work related travel and requisite driver's insurance.
• Travel within the County of Renfrew.
