We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Debt Recovery Representative to join our team in Vancouver,British Columbia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and pursuing legal debt recovery cases, including attending court hearings to defend cases and represent the company's interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file court documents, such as Notice of Claim, Default Order, Summons to Payment hearing, Certificate of Judgement and Garnishment orders.
- Manage a portfolio of debt recovery cases, sign affidavits, attend court proceedings/trials when necessary and Transition from Civil Resolution Tribunal Default Order to Provincial Court
- Communicate with clients to resolve cases.
- Conduct legal research and provide advice on debt recovery strategies.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Handle bankruptcy, insolvency, and personal injury lawsuits
- Identify irregularities and review them with the appropriate departments for resolution
- Review and analyze customer accounts, identifying deficiencies, negotiating payment arrangements settlements, and approving write-offs
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in legal debt recovery or litigation.
- Proven experience in court appearance
- Strong knowledge of debt recovery laws and court procedures in British Columbia.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to attend court hearings as required
