What you will be doing:

The Senior Manager, Marketing Innovation Strategist, Take-to-Market identifies where Tangerine can win next - uncovering high-potential customer, market, competitive, and cultural opportunities and turning them into a pipeline of bold ideas designed to unlock growth. This role is focused on marketing innovation - generating differentiated go-to-market ideas that help Tangerine grab attention and breakthrough in market. Sitting at the front end of innovation, this role connects insight, imagination, and business ambition to define the opportunity, shape the strategic idea, and mobilize the right partners to bring the strongest possibilities forward. As a catalyst for what is next, the Marketing Innovation Strategist challenges conventional thinking, creates momentum around differentiated opportunities, and helps Tangerine build the next wave of ideas that can advance its Take-to-Market priorities and deliver meaningful customer and business impact.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be:

• Opportunity Discovery & Strategic Foresight
  • Synthesize customer, market, competitive, cultural, and business intelligence to identify high-potential opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Monitor emerging behaviors, category shifts, new capabilities, and cultural signals to anticipate where Tangerine can win next.
  • Identify unmet needs and market whitespace, assessing each opportunity against customer relevance, brand fit, strategic value, and potential business impact.
  • Reframe business priorities and challenges into clear, inspiring opportunity statements that focus teams on the most valuable problems to solve.
  • Develop persuasive opportunity narratives and recommendations that create alignment, secure sponsorship, and build momentum around where Tangerine should place its next bets.

• Innovation Pipeline & Idea Incubation
  • Build and manage a visible pipeline of go-to-market opportunities and ideas spanning products, partnerships, campaigns, channels, and customer experiences, prioritizing them based on desirability, strategic fit, feasibility, distinctiveness, speed to market, and potential impact.
  • Translate priority opportunities into bold, buzz-worthy go-to-market ideas that define the customer value, business potential, and reason Tangerine can win.
  • Facilitate ideation and co-creation with cross-functional teams, bringing diverse perspectives together to generate and strengthen differentiated solutions.
  • Shape the strongest ideas into actionable opportunity cases and incubation plans, including the problem to solve, proposed solution, how it could come to life, why it will work, and the next step required to validate it.

• Cross-Functional Mobilization & Innovation Impact
  • Partner with Take-to-Market, Client Solutions, Brand, Channel, Product, Digital, and Agency teams to connect go-to-market opportunities and ideas to business roadmaps and priorities, pressure-test them, clarify ownership, and establish a practical path to validation and activation.
  • Present opportunities and strategic ideas to stakeholders and senior leadership through compelling storytelling, evidence, and a clear articulation of customer and business value.
  • Define learning agendas and success measures for early exploration, pilots, or experiments, and use evidence to recommend whether ideas should advance, evolve, or stop.

• 7+ years in marketing innovation, growth strategy, go-to-market strategy, brand strategy, customer strategy, or a related insight-led role.
• Proven ability to uncover market opportunities, connect disparate insights, and translate them into bold, actionable ideas with clear customer and business value.
• Experience building or managing an innovation, growth, or strategic opportunity pipeline and moving ideas from discovery through prioritization and validation.
• Strong strategic storytelling, facilitation, problem-framing, and conceptual thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and mobilize cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-visibility environments without direct authority.
• Strong understanding of customer behavior, cultural and category trends, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and modern marketing channels.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to make complex opportunities clear, compelling, and actionable.
