Automation Project Engineer Canada

Lead automation project delivery with LAPORTE across Canada, combining planning, schedule control, and system commissioning in a hybrid engineering position.As an Automation Engineer, you will manage factory automation projects from customer needs through testing and commissioning. LAPORTE serves pharmaceutical, food and beverage, industrial biotechnology, and industrial manufacturing sectors. The work requires equipment selection, technical documentation, supplier follow-up, and interdisciplinary collaboration.Key Responsibilities:
Plan and supervise factory automation projectsControl project costs, schedules, resources, and changesSelect automation equipment and prepare design documentationCoordinate manufacturers, contractors, suppliers, and project teamsSupport testing, commissioning, estimates, and reportingRequirements:
Five to six years in industrial automationDegree in automated production or electrical engineeringMembership with EGBC or APEGAKnowledge of Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and SiemensStrong leadership, organization, communication, and project management skillsUse technical knowledge and independent judgment to deliver controlled automation projects for LAPORTE clients across Canadian offices.
