Incorp Rate: $100-$110.26/hr

Role Summary

The Senior Solutions Designer will lead the analysis, documentation, and modernization of legacy systems with a solid focus on data integration, ETL processes, and enterprise data architecture. The role requires deep expertise in Informatica-based ETL environments and the ability to translate complex data ecosystems into clear, scalable, and governable solution designs aligned with OPS standards and Information Management principles.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and data teams to ensure alignment between business requirements, system architecture, and data flow design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, documentation, and modernization of legacy system architectures with emphasis on data flows, integrations, and dependencies.
• Analyze and document Informatica ETL processes (PowerCenter and/or Informatica Cloud/IDMC), including mappings, workflows, transformations, and performance considerations.
• Define current-state and future-state architecture including:
  • System context diagrams
  • Data architecture models
  • Integration patterns
  • Interface specifications
  • Technical design documentation
• Identify data lineage, transformation logic, dependencies, and optimization opportunities across enterprise data pipelines.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and compliant technical solutions.
• Map business processes to systems and data flows to ensure end-to-end traceability.
• Collaborate with business, development, and data teams to ensure alignment and feasibility of solution designs.
• Ensure adherence to OPS architecture frameworks, Information Management standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in architectural governance and design review sessions to ensure consistency and quality.
• Identify risks, constraints, and system impacts, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Guide implementation teams and support resolution of design and integration issues during delivery.
• Promote reuse of existing services, components, and data assets to improve efficiency and reduce duplication.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Must-Have Qualifications (Mandatory)

• 10+ years of experience in solution design, data architecture, or enterprise integration roles.
• Robust hands‑on experience with ETL tools, specifically Informatica PowerCenter and/or Informatica Cloud (IDMC):
  • Mappings
  • Workflows
  • Transformations
  • Performance tuning
• Deep expertise in data architecture, data integration, and data modelling.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data lineage
  • Metadata management
  • Data quality principles
• Experience analyzing and documenting legacy systems and complex integration environments.
• Knowledge of Information Management principles, standards, and governance practices.
• Experience producing solution architecture artifacts, including:
  • High‑level and detailed designs
  • Data flow diagrams
  • Integration/interface specifications
• Understanding of OPS I⁢ architecture standards, frameworks, and governance processes.
• Awareness of AODA and accessibility requirements as they relate to solution design.
• Ability to assess, recommend, and justify technology and integration approaches.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex system decomposition and troubleshooting.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience working within Ontario Public Service (OPS) or similar government environments.
• Experience modernizing large‑scale data integration or legacy ETL environments.
• Exposure to enterprise cloud or hybrid data platforms.
