Work Term: Tuesday September 16th - Sunday January 11th

What JUMP is looking for: Jump Basketball is looking for a motivated, energetic, Student-Intern looking to kick start their career in the Sports Business World.

Job Summary:

This role is an Admin related position that will provide hands-on experience with the various processes and functions of a Sport Business. Your main goal will be to ensure that 100% of our members have a positive experience 100% of the time. Customer satisfaction will be the primary performance metric.

• Handle league administrative duties for the upcoming season including but not limited to player registrations, customer support (emails, phone calls, social media), JUMP program/Coach weekly communication, procurement of league supplies/materials where required, and other tasks as required).
• Expected to coach/ref in the gym 1 day a week (weeknight 5-9:30pm, or weekend 10-7pm)
• Provide in-gym support during the opening week of the fall and winter season (Sept 30th-Oct 5th & Jan 6th- Jan 11th)
• Create weekly social media content
• Attend JUMP staff meetings (in person/remotely)
• Attend JUMP in person training in Mississauga first 2 weeks of the internship (6 days total)
• Be a JUMP ambassador - on and off the court
• Effectively communicate internally with JUMP Founders, Staff, and Coaches.
• Effectively communicate externally with JUMP Stakeholders such as Parents, Players, Partners, Facility Staff, Vendors, etc.

• Has experience with google sheets and Gmail
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is prepared to be flexible and adaptable
• Works well with others and independently
• Problem solver and enjoys coming up with creative solutions when needed
• Ability to work remotely and in person when needed
• Show up on time, ready, energetic and positive

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Enrolled in University/College (Sport Management, or similar program)
• Experience with sports and recreation, volunteering and/or coaching is an asset.
• Incredible enthusiasm, energy, positivity and dedication to help kids enjoy the game of basketball
• You are a great teammate and always willing to help
• The office location is in Mississauga
• The gym locations may be anywhere in Peel, Halton, and/or York.
• This position will be a combination of work from home, and in-gym support at various locations in Peel, York, Halton, and/or Tri-City
• Helpful skill: Tech background/ AI experience
• Access to personal vehicle considered an asset

Schedule:

• 8 Hour Shifts, Tuesday to Saturday
• Weekend availability

Salary: $2500 Honorarium, Up to $2500 Performance Based Bonus & all in-gym hours paid at an additional rate of $18/hour

Job Type: Internship / Co-opContract length: 4 months

Pay: $2,500.00-$5,000.00 per year
