Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada invites you to impact lives as a Full-Time Low Vision Therapist in Peterborough, ON. This role emphasizes direct client rehabilitation through innovative vision strategies and support. As a Low Vision Therapist, you will assess and improve functional vision for clients, teach them to maximize their abilities, and recommend the appropriate aids. This position involves collaboration with healthcare teams and participation in community education, emphasizing the importance of vision health awareness. Your expertise will empower those with vision challenges to lead more independent lives. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough functional low vision evaluations.
- Guide clients in using low vision aids appropriately.
- Provide education on eye health and conditions.
- Manage documentation and maintain client records.
- Facilitate workshops and community engagements.
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree in health or vision.
- ACVREP certification eligibility required.
- Strong understanding of vision rehabilitation methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Willingness to adapt to flexible work hours and travel requirements.
