RETAIL ACCOUNTANT (1 Year Contract)

REPORTING TO OPERATIONS FINANCE MANAGER

BG Fuels is the exclusive Mobil branded wholesaler and offers the leading PC Optimum loyalty program at these locations. It also wholly owns and manages the Mr. Gas and Waypoint Convenience brands, as well as Inver and Breakaway offers with independent retailers.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

BG Fuels continues to grow in the retail business. This role is to support the business growth and provide financial reporting and analysis, monitor automation process, and handle transactions for both the

Dealer's Buy and Sell model and the Agency model.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

Retail Accounting

• Prepare extra reimbursement and chargeback to retailers.
• Prepare monthly fuel tax filings.
• Assist in billing enquires.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Assist in month end, quarter end and year end closing process. Prepare supported journal entries.
• Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage month end control activities within required timelines.
• Prepare financial related analysis for different business models and AR accounts.
• Provide cost benefit analysis for projects.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis as directed by management.
• Assist with audit request.

System and Process

• Participate in system and process training.
• Provide support in resolving data issue and system errors.

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• University degree or diploma in Accounting or Business.
• 1 year experience in finance or accounting.
• Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• Strong English communication skills required, verbal and written.
• Strong organization, analytical, communication and time management skills.
• Able to connect with peers from varied backgrounds.

SKILLS/ATTRIUTES DESIRED:

• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft NAV and or Heidi SQL is an asset.
