National Category Manager – Distribution Responsibilities

Organize and maintain the product category tree and nomenclature to support data‑driven decision making. Review and recommend stock packages and product demand/sales performance. Identify and recommend external affiliations, industry conferences, and seminars for staff. Source and evaluate new products and vendors to enhance the product line, ensuring ROI and successful introduction. Collaborate with marketing and sales on promotional plans that meet budgeted sales and gross profit targets. Negotiate program terms, pricing, bulk discounts, and promotional costing. Develop long‑term strategy for product categories based on sales and profitability targets. Recommend affiliation alignments to position Nedco as a category leader. Conduct market analysis, review category reports, and identify risks and opportunities. Monitor competitive activity through branch visits, industry events, and trade shows. Analyze supplier‑distributor relationships to support business goals. Identify new and emerging category trends. Develop and review promotional and awareness campaigns with manufacturers. Negotiate vendor agreements to achieve competitive pricing and gross profit guidelines. Secure and manage Market Development Funds to support sales initiatives. Conduct annual supplier reviews to ensure compliance with company policies. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships. Communicate effectively with branches, sales teams, AP, Procurement, Marketing, and Pricing. Manage new product or supplier launches and sales performance reviews. Implement and support special programs such as AIM, PANPRO, CAC, VIP, Web‑Site, PIM, and Global Initiatives. Qualifications

Post‑secondary education in Business Management, Marketing, Merchandising, or Product Management. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a product category role. Strong analytical skills for market research and sales/margin trend analysis. Proficiency in Excel and Word, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables. Excellent negotiation, oral/written communication, presentation, and time‑management skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Creativity, adaptability, teamwork, and self‑motivation. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail. Compensation

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is CAD 100,000–130,000, based on experience and qualifications. Variable pay and other components are part of Rexel’s total rewards package. Benefits
