Job Responsibility:
Join a team of forward thinking, enthusiastic, results-driven and collaborative professionals. To support our mission, we are currently seeking a CADET Designer to join our team in Vancouver. What does this role involve?
- Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Under close supervision of design engineers or a supervising design drafter, complete detailed designs from rough sketches of specification outlines.
- Maintain and set up project files.
- Work within budgets and schedules for projects.
- Develop toward requiring less supervision and the completion of more complex designs.
- Contribute to periodic reporting e.g. Project progress; resource requirements, Project budget versus cost, priorities, allocation of work, team needs.
- Regular maintenance of drafting TO DO lists.
- Ensure checking and review processes are completed.
- Review designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes, Canadian / International Standards and Sedgman Standards.
- Comply with the Change Management process for engineering design.
- Upkeep of drawing list and percentage complete status.
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the Quality management process and system. Understand Sedgman standard specifications, typical/standard drawings, and calculations/simulations to reflect current industry standards.
About you: To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated, well organised with the ability to manage multiple work fronts in a busy environment. You will be able to think out-of-the-box and be the driver to find innovative solutions to trivial problems.
- Secondary education and progressing towards Associate Diploma in CAD / Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Completed minimum 1 year of an Associate Diploma in CAD / Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent / Technologist qualifications.
- Discipline based Autodesk products. Skills in MS Office suite.
