Child Abuse Committee Administrative Assistant

Job Responsibility:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 plus a certificate in a 1-year Administrative Course, or a combination of education and relevant
experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in interacting respectfully and effectively with staff, collateral
agencies and the public
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated skill in working cross culturally and knowledge and understanding of multi-cultural issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision within a team setting
  • A satisfactory criminal records check, prior contact check and a check of the Manitoba Child Abuse Registry is a
requirement of all ANCR employment positions. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. DUTIES: The Child Abuse Committee Administrative Assistant is responsible for executive administrative duties of the Child Abuse Committee (CAC) Coordinator. These include:
  • Provides direct support to the Child Abuse Committee (CAC) Coordinator
  • Performs a wide variety of administrative duties that are highly confidential and sensitive in nature
  • Creates and maintains files, enters information on the Access Database and CFSIS, establishes and
maintains tracking systems and advises of upcoming critical timelines
  • Attends all Child Abuse Committee meetings, prepares meeting agenda, prepares profiles, records and
distributes minutes
  • Prepares statistical information on a monthly and yearly basis
  • Corresponds and communicates with collaterals (including WPS, RCMP, CAR and Family Service Workers),
requesting and delivering information, and providing updates
  • Communicates with Legal Counsel
  • Prepares for and attends Docket when necessary
  • Performs other related work as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Provides support to other administrative staff and coverage for ANCR Receptionist in rotation with other
administrative staff as needed and assists Legal Coordinator as time permits
