MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law is a civil litigation boutique firm representing clients across Atlantic Canada and beyond. We currently have offices located in New Glasgow, NS; Halifax, NS; St. John's, NL; and Moncton, NB
.
Responsibilities Include
- Assisting lawyers in preparation for mediation and judicial dispute resolutions
- Preparing, drafting, and reviewing legal documents and correspondence
- Organizing and maintaining accurate records for filing and word processing
- Researching records, court files and other legal documents
- Supporting and contacting clients to schedule appointments, communicate case progress, and to obtain or exchange information
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent role-related education and experience
- 3+ years relevant experience working as a Paralegal
- Currently living in Halifax or HRM, or willing to relocate immediately
- Proficiency and aptitude for working with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Case Management software
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative and exercise sound judgement
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Able to be flexible, and adapt easily to change
- Experience working in the field of personal injury law is an asset
