Investor Relations Specialist

Job Responsibility: Worker Type: Employee Group: Investor Relations Department Job Post End Date: 06/25/2024 About this opportunity: Reporting to the Vice President, Investor Relations, this individual will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Cenovus's Investor Relations program and will play a key role in ensuring that the company's business strategy and initiatives are articulated in a consistent, clear, and concise manner to the investment community. The Specialist will interact internally with people in all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, and externally with investment professionals and portfolio managers. What you'll do:

• Advise executive management on industry and market trends, shareholder concerns, and competitor developments that may impact the company.
• Work with other members of the IR team, senior leaders, and other business teams across the company to articulate Cenovus's shareholder value proposition.
• Facilitate effective and consistent communication between executives and the investment community.
• Work collaboratively with the External Financial Reporting and Communications teams to deliver consistent messaging and flawless execution of key IR deliverables including news releases, quarterly financial reports, quarterly conference calls, annual general meetings, and corporate investor presentations.
• Respond to analyst and investor inquiries relating to the financial and operating performance of the company.
• Coordinate and attend meetings, conferences, site tours and road show presentations with investors and analysts.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key contacts across the investment community.
• Assist with preparation of materials and reports for senior management and Board of Directors.
• Maintain, update and develop financial models to assist with analyst and investor modelling calls.
• Continuous monitoring and reporting of shareholder movement and buy / sell analysis.

Who you are:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• University degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics or relevant technical degree such as Engineering).
• Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience, preferably in Investor Relations or a role involving advanced financial/investment analysis.
• The following professional certifications would be an asset: CPA, CFA, P.Eng.
• Strong financial and investment analysis skills and experience.
• High level of business acumen.
• Understanding of capital markets.
• Excellent communications skills including writing, editing, and proofreading.
• Experience interacting with senior levels of management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to apply strategic thinking.
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to manage priorities to successfully meet deadlines.
• Highly developed organization skills with strong attention to detail.
• Superior Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills (including financial modeling and charting).
• Ability to travel as required.
