The opportunity
The Resuscitation Program Manager (RPM) plays a critical role in bringing their knowledge of our network and our programs to bear on advancing our relationships and deepening our engagement with a diverse network of instructors, training providers, customers, and corporate accounts. This role supports The Heart & Stroke Foundation's mission to advance and enhance emergency cardiovascular care and first aid training and education throughout Canada. The incumbent does this by helping us Own the Marketmeaning we are both seen as the leader and de facto choice for serious employers and healthcare providers across the country who are seeking to advance their cardiovascular emergency response programs and acquiring best-in-class training from our network of high-performance accredited instructors.
The Resuscitation Program Manager grows and supports our network of stakeholders (instructors, training providers) and identifies opportunities to advance our programs within the region. They lead engagement with our network and aim to elevate our brand, our programs and the delivery of high-quality education through the development and management of our programs, solutions and services. They collaborate and, as needed, lead collaborations with internal teamsboth within Resuscitation Program and the broader The Heart & Stroke Foundationand ensure open dialog and an exchange of information takes place, to develop solutions and drive value to our training network and customers. He/She upholds our guidelines by ensuring compliance with our policies and standards, and represents the Foundation at provincial meetings, events, conferences and other activities, as appropriate.
How you will make an impact every day
Knows our customer and instructor network
- Develops a strong understanding of our customers and instructor networks and nurtures strong relationships with key stakeholders and constituents, including tracking interactions and outcomes in Salesforce C R M.
- Engages directly and regularly with top performers in our network in their region and across disciplines and market segments.
- Meets and consults with trusted individuals in our network to acquire their insights, advice, and guidance.
- Tracks and develops performance plans to address poor performers in their region.
- Deepens our understanding of our constituents through effective investigation & documentation.
Knows our Programs
- Understands and communicates the role, value proposition, and key differentiators of our products and programs.
- Becomes intimately familiar with our programs through direct observation of courses and review of our training materials and policies
- Contributes to the development and/or implementation of marketing strategies that specifically promote resuscitation and first aid programs.
- Utilizes Resuscitation portal, Salesforce system and PowerBI dashboards to evaluate and monitor performance of our products and programs and to develop informed plans.
Helps us Deliver the Mission by expanding our reach and network
- Develops plans to grow and expand the reach and effectiveness of our network and implements innovative solutions to do so.
- Engages with customers and potential partners to explore and expand opportunities for new business development.
- Identifies, recruits and cultivates a network of high performers and sponsors individuals for promotion to Instructor Trainer (IT) status, as appropriate.
- Develops and maintains a provincial network with relevant institutions and professional organizations.
- Keeps up with the latest industry developments, including direct market competitors
- Follows up with new leads and referrals generated from the specialist and others on our team.
- Prepares status reports on goals and performance.
Supports our partners and network
- Navigates complex issues to support positive outcomes for our partners in each segment of our network.
- Develops strong communities of practice within our networks and regularly meets with them to advance objectives, deepen relationships and address emerging issues.
- Acts as an ambassador and representative of The Heart & Stroke Foundation, by consistently demonstrating our values.
- Shows a bias for action and a sense of urgency to resolve matters and identify solutions.
- Effectively and consistently activates a solution-oriented, relationship-centric remediation approach to resolve complaints and QA investigations, to maintain and improve the performance of our instructor network.
- Deactivates instructors who are not adhering to H&S criteria and agreements.
Talent Management and Leadership
- Lead talent development, ensuring high standards, competence and that staff is well supported in fulfilling their accountabilities, developing their skills and achieving their career potential.
- Providing clear direction on business goals and priorities; ensure optimal deployment of resources to achieve business goals.
- Establish performance plans and objectives and review on an ongoing basis; provide coaching and feedback as per the performance management process
- As required, recruit skilled talent in support of current and future Foundation needs, following Foundation policies, interviewing methodology and assessment guidelines.
- Familiarize and comply with all HSF policies while ensuring accurate administration of employee-related information: absence records, vacation, title, etc.
- Mentorship activities that support the learning of others. This may include supervision/mentorship of graduate students or other individuals on placement at H&S, peer mentorship or other opportunities as they arise.
Who we need
Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in the CPR/first aid training marketplace.
- The Heart & Stroke Foundation Instructor certification and/or other agency instructional experience is an asset.
- Experience in marketing and communication would be an asset.
- Knowledge of provincial healthcare systems and resuscitation training agencies an asset.
- Experience working in the health care field would be an asset.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector would be an asset
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, health science or a related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Certificate/training in adult education preferred.
Skills

- Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful.
- Proven ability to effectively promote opportunities and partnerships and engage diverse groups of people.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM applications.
- Flexible/adaptable, able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; able to effectively manage a demanding schedule and prioritize responsibilities.
- Proficient with remote technology, online and social platforms.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and life support equipment, an asset.
- French/English bilingual an asset.
- Volunteer management and supervision skill an asset.
