About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant/Pre-Tester to join our busy practice.

This role is much more than reception or administration—you'll play an essential part in each patient's journey. From welcoming patients and performing diagnostic pre-testing to supporting our optometrists and ensuring appointments run efficiently, you'll help create a seamless and positive experience for every patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and create a warm, professional first impression.
• Perform pre-testing procedures, including visual fields, OCT, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic testing (training provided).
• Prepare patients for their examination and assist the optometrist as needed.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records and process payments.
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
• Educate patients on clinic processes, products, and services while referring clinical questions to the optometrist.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure exceptional patient care throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an optometry, medical, or healthcare setting is considered an asset but is not required —we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays
