About the Opportunity
Tim Hortons in Shelburne is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Shift Manager to join our restaurant management team.

This position is suited to someone with previous food service experience who is ready to take on a higher level of supervisory and operational responsibility. The Shift Manager will be responsible for leading restaurant staff during assigned shifts, coordinating day-to-day operations, supporting hiring and training, maintaining service and food quality standards, and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently.

The successful candidate will provide direct leadership to a team that may include food service counter attendants, food preparers, kitchen staff and food service helpers, with responsibility for supervising approximately 11–20 employees, depending on staffing levels and the shift.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering approximately 30 to 40 hours per week. Candidates must be comfortable working a flexible schedule that may include mornings, days, evenings, early mornings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
As a Shift Manager, you will take an active leadership role in restaurant operations. Responsibilities include:

Leading and coordinating restaurant operations during assigned shifts
Supervising and coordinating the activities of food service counter attendants, food preparers, kitchen staff and food service helpers
Establishing work methods and organizing staff to meet operational schedules
Assigning duties and monitoring employee performance throughout the shift
Supporting the hiring and onboarding of food service employees
Training employees in job duties, food handling, sanitation, workplace safety and customer service procedures
Providing ongoing coaching and guidance to team members
Requisitioning food, kitchen supplies and other materials required for restaurant operations
Monitoring inventory levels and helping ensure appropriate stock is available
Maintaining records relating to stock, repairs, sales and wastage
Preparing food order summaries and coordinating food preparation requirements
Monitoring food preparation and service to ensure established quality standards are maintained
Supervising and checking the delivery and movement of food and supplies
Addressing customer complaints and concerns professionally and working toward appropriate resolutions
Helping maintain an organized, safe and efficient work environment
Supporting management in maintaining consistent restaurant operating standards
Ensuring employees work effectively as a team during busy service periods
Qualifications
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant food service experience, preferably including supervisory, team-lead or shift-lead responsibilities.

Work Environment
The position involves working in a busy restaurant and coffee shop environment. The workplace may be noisy and hot, particularly during peak service periods.

The Shift Manager must be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting while overseeing employees, responding to customers and ensuring operational requirements are completed on time.
