Lodge Maintenance Manager

Job Responsibility:

Wilderness North is an adventure tourism operator with fly-in resort properties within the Albany and Ogoki River watersheds. We offer outdoor experiences that cater to a variety of markets that are looking for a relaxing and successful wilderness vacation. We are seeking knowledgeable and motivated individuals to represent our brand and help deliver an unforgettable positive experience for our guests. You must be a self-starter and be able to complete tasks on your own. If you possess some mechanical aptitude, or have worked in one of the trades and are looking for a change, we would like to hear from you. We have both seasonal and year-round full-time positions available at our lodges and seaplane base in Armstrong, Ontario.

As a Maintenance Manager at one of our full-service lodges, you are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities, including a wide range of equipment. It is essential you are organized, creative, flexible and capable of multi-tasking when that make sense. You play an active role in performing the maintenance tasks as well as delegating duties to dockhands at the resorts.

Duties that are shared or may be approached as a team, at the remote fly-in lodges, include cleaning and preparing fishing boats and other watercraft in good working order and ready for guest use. Lawn care, basic landscaping, refuse collection, preparing and delivering firewood, cleaning and organizing maintenance buildings and tools, cleaning and maintaining fish cleaning house, and assisting lodge guests as required (both on and off dock) are all shared lodge tasks.

Candidates must possess Boater's License with three years of boating experience and a valid First Aid certificate. Proficient fish filleting skills are an asset. With solid mechanical knowledge as a foundation, everything can be learned. A strong work ethic and the ability to cheerfully deal with the unexpected goes a long way in this environment.
