The Department of Medicine (DOM) is one of the largest in North America, with 946 full-time faculty members, 1,000 postgraduate trainees, and 20 specialty and sub-specialty divisions located across six fully-affiliated hospitals, four community-affiliated hospitals and more than a dozen additional clinical practice sites. We are a powerhouse of medical research, with more than $162-million in annual research funding. This research generates new knowledge with the goal of meaningfully impacting internal medicine training and the care and health outcomes of patients and their families.

As Project Manager, you will you will play an instrumental role in leading the planning, implementation, and execution of projects and process improvements across our department. Leveraging your exceptional project management and change management skills, you will support strategic planning initiatives for each of our 20 divisions and provide key consultation to our Chair and leadership team on advancing policy improvements, academic recruitment strategies and procedures and department-wide best practices. Your proven track record of delivering projects on time and within scope will enable us to develop and implement our vision for the next 5 years.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
• Leading the development and making recommendations for policy, procedures and best practices
• Developing, revising and operationalizing business processes that support unit activities and objectives
• Analyzing administrative processes and procedures and recommending changes for improvement
• Providing academic search and review process support
• Directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
• Minimum five years' progressively responsible project management experience in a University, medical school, teaching hospital or comparable environment
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; knowledge of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and its hospital affiliations
• Experience supporting external reviews and strategic planning projects
• Experience supporting and coordinating departmental academic searches and reviews
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing multiple projects and time-sensitive priorities, including proficiency with developing project resources, such as charter, scope, schedules, etc.
• Experiencing providing high level administrative support, including preparing reports and correspondence
• Demonstrated experience utilizing data to inform on decision making
• Experience supporting and facilitating focus groups and senior level committees
• Experience directing the workflow of appointed staff
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (including SharePoint), project management tools, survey tools, with the flexibility, adaptability and desire to seek out, learn and embrace new and emerging technology
• Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with executive level stakeholders
• Exceptional organizational skills in project planning, and task coordination
• Strong time management skills including the ability to set priorities meet deadlines and facilitate/influence others to meet deadlines
• Ability to cope with pressures and deadlines and adapt to evolving processes and procedures
• Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources and provide recommendations
• Strong initiative, resourceful and excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player

USW Pay Band 13 -- $86,340. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $110,415. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
