Reporting to the City Solicitor, Legal Counsel provides strategic legal advice, advocacy, and risk management guidance to protect the Citys interests. This role represents the City in courts, tribunals, arbitration proceedings, and other legal forums, while advising Council, senior leaders, and City stakeholders on litigation, contracts, bylaws, regulatory matters, procurement, and compliance. As a member of the leadership team, Legal Counsel also supports organizational initiatives and promotes sound legal and risk management practices across the City.
What You Bring - Law degree and membership in good standing, or eligibility for membership, with the Law Society of Saskatchewan- 4 to 7 years of litigation experience before courts, tribunals, arbitrators, or regulatory bodies
- Strong advocacy, legal research, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills
