Registered Therapist / Counsellor

Susan Ulmer Addiction Services is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and skilled Registered Therapist/Counsellor to join our team.

We are looking for someone who has strong experience supporting individuals with addiction, trauma, grief, mental health concerns, and complex needs and who can provide culturally respectful, trauma-informed, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counselling
Complete assessments and individualized treatment planning
Provide crisis intervention and relapse-prevention support
Support participants experiencing addiction, trauma, grief, and complex mental health concerns
Adjust treatment plans as participant needs change
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
Coordinate referrals to detox, treatment, healthcare, and community services
Work collaboratively with counsellors, therapists, outreach staff, healthcare providers, and community partners
Support aftercare and ongoing recovery planning

Qualifications:

Must be registered and in good standing with an appropriate professional body in Saskatchewan
Previous counselling/therapy experience is required
Strong experience working with addictions and complex participant needs
Experience supporting individuals affected by trauma and grief
Experience working with First Nations people and communities is strongly preferred
Understanding of colonization, residential schools, and intergenerational trauma
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, addiction recovery, harm reduction, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive practice
Strong communication, documentation, assessment, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
