Senior Communications Advisor at TCHC (Toronto)

Drive impactful communication strategies as a Senior Communications Advisor for Toronto Community Housing (TCHC). Focus on media relations, public relations strategies, and crisis communications. Reporting to the Manager of External Communications, this senior position demands strategic expertise in managing high-profile issues and fostering relationships with media.
You will lead media relations initiatives while providing counsel on sensitive matters to executives and senior management. Your proactive communications approach will reinforce TCHC's tenant-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans
- Act as a spokesperson during media engagements
- Write and edit various communication materials
- Organize media events and track industry issues
- Mentor junior communications staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- 7+ years of communications/public relations experience
- 3-5 years in media relations/issues managementSolid writing and editing skills
- Ability to manage sensitive issues effectively
Lead TCHC’s communications efforts to enhance engagement and transparency within Toronto's social housing community.
