Research Security Advisor at University of Toronto

Support and advise on information security at the University of Toronto as a Research Security Advisor. This pivotal role combines security expertise with research administration support. You will engage with the Research Information Security Program to ensure university researchers are equipped to handle security expectations and compliance requirements. Balancing security protocols with research objectives is key, as you'll work to build effective relationships with faculty and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored security advice for research projects
- Evaluate compliance and risk for diverse research activities
- Engage collaboratively with research offices and administrative sectors
- Provide assessments on sensitive information management
- Influence security practices through relationship-building with the research community
- At least five years in information security roles
- Background in consultancy or research support
- Familiarity with Canadian security standards
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality and discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster trust with researchers
