Estimator Project Manager

Job Responsibility:

Inner City Diesel Ltd. (ICD) is excited to announce we are seeking an experienced Estimator Project Manager to join our team. The selected candidate will have working knowledge of estimating software, experience with the full project scope for large projects , and the proven ability to calculate valve requirements and design, flows, and pressures.

The successful candidate MUST BE local to Fort McMurray, AB. This is NOT a hybrid or remote role.

Responsibilities:

Estimating

• Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications thoroughly to fully understand the scope of work. Identify risks, potential changes and market conditions that may have cost or scheduling impacts.
• Prepare small to large scale estimates, including complete material lists, labour, and equipment take-offs. This includes identifying areas of cost savings, long lead items, and potential alternate solutions.
• Provide technical information and perform calculations in relation to overall project work scope to include, but not limited to, pump sizing, flow calculations, mass calculations, system designs.
• Develop execution plans for proposals, including scope definitions and proposal breakdown structures.
• Lead tender review meetings with management prior to submitting to client.
• Review upcoming and ongoing tender opportunities.
• Follow-up and obtain feedback on submitted estimates to identify areas of improvement, including identifying market trends and adjusting accordingly.

Project Management

• Maintain a full understanding of project scope throughout the duration of the project.
• Attend meetings (pre-con, on-site, etc.).
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, submittals, and other project documents.
• Prepare change orders and negotiate with the client to ensure all parties are satisfied.
• Purchase and negotiate deliverables with preferred vendors.

Required Qualifications:

• Engineering education and/or experience in a related position (such as Process Engineering) with strong ability to calculate flows, pressures, and system valve requirements and design.
• Thorough understanding of a large project scope from proposal to completion.
• Advanced experience with estimating software(s) and Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
• Solid understanding of pump/dewatering related projects.
• 3+ years of direct Estimating experience.
• Must have own form of transportation to and from work (public transit not available to current office location).
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Project Management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PEng) designation is an asset.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.

Pay: $45,059.94-$114,440.70 per year
