Medical Dosimetrist in Radiation Therapy

The Medical Dosimetrist plays a key role in developing accurate radiation therapy plans under the direction of the Director or Site Manager of Medical Physics. Candidates must have a Bachelor or Diploma in Radiation Therapy along with Canadian Dosimetry Certification or be certified within five years of employment. This position requires clinical knowledge in anatomy, radiation biology, and mathematical skills vital for effective treatment planning. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare accurate computer treatment plans
- Calculate radiation doses for patient therapies
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists
- Communicate treatment plans effectively to team members
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards
- Bachelor/Diploma in Radiation Therapy
- Canadian Dosimetry Certificate or equivalent
- Three years as a qualified Radiation Therapist
- Licensed with CMRIPS
- Strong technical and communication skills
