Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Manager, Fund Development & Individual Giving (Mat Leave Cover) based in Toronto, ON, with flexibility for some remote work. The individual will lead fundraising initiatives, including managing annual giving campaigns, stewarding donor relationships, and implementing planned giving strategies. Responsibilities include proposal writing, developing donor engagement plans, and overseeing philanthropy initiatives to support Feed Ontario’s mission. The role involves working to meet fundraising targets and exploring new opportunities to grow individual and corporate giving.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

INDIVIDUAL GIVING

• Independently manages the Individual Giving portfolio, with the support of the Director, Development & Partnerships as part of the Development Strategy, including monthly giving
• Manages the donor database, and tax receipting, maintaining data integrity and accuracy
• Responsible for undertaking activities along the fundraising cycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Oversees all activities related to Direct Mail, including managing distribution list, production, and copy writing as required and manages the relationship with any external contractors
• Coordinates small to mid-level peer-to-peer, consumer, employee partner, and employee giving campaigns with corporate and community partners
• Responsible for the strategy and execution of Feed Ontario’s Legacy Giving portfolio
• Responsible for the development of a strategy and execution plan for Major Gifts

FOUNDATIONS

• Responsible for managing and executing the development strategy as it relates to Foundations
• Manages the prospect research, relationship development, proposal creation and all reporting requirements for foundation asks
• Responsible for the creation and management of a grant calendar in order to manage timelines
• Work effectively with the Comms Tram and Network Services Team to gather all relevant information for the creation of a proposals and ensure that all reporting requirements are met, in a timely manner
• Oversee all stewardship activities for Foundations, and executing the renewal strategy

FUND DEVELOPMENT & SPECIAL PROJECTS

• Responsible for managing and executing the development strategy to fund activities related to Feed Ontario’s Feed Possibility Pillar
• Responsible for the creation of a development pipeline of prospects for Feed Possibility
• Manages the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects and all aspect of the moves management process
• Liaises with the Network Services Department to understand the activities that require funding and development a case for support/ proposal for potential donors
• Responsible for all donor reporting requirements, as it relates to specific funds or special projects including outputs, outcomes and overall impact
• Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree or equivalent
• 5- 7 years’ experience with individual giving program including donor engagement through appeals and campaigns.
• Valid Ontario’s driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Computer Skills (MS Office, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce)
• Demonstrated ability to build long-term relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in a positive, engaging manner
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Experience using research tools for prospect research
• Experience in proposal writing, prospect research, annual individual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and donor cultivation and recognition
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders
• Understanding and knowledge of fundraising and stewardship methodologies and practices
• Data management skills
• Ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for the position is $62,400 - $93,600

WORKING CONDITIONS

Feed Ontario office works under a hybrid model of in-person and remote work. Most work on behalf of Feed Ontario will done remotely. There will be some offsite travel required for meetings with partners and stakeholders. On occasion, you will be required to attend events on behalf of Feed Ontario.
